The excitement of the 50th anniversary is still fresh in our minds. Together, we’ve shared memorable moments that have left their mark on the history of the RFI. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To kick off this second half of the century, the RFI is presenting an edition titled “Fibers” from August 15 to 23, 2026, weaving a new thread into the fabric of its history. Together, we will explore traditional costumes from every angle.
We will examine our relationship with clothing, highlight natural materials, and pay tribute to “human” craftsmanship. The public will be able to discover the symbolism behind each element of traditional attire and learn to “read” a costume, which can reveal an origin, social status or role, and even a chapter in a region’s history.
In the age of fast fashion, this theme resonates as a highly relevant message—culturally, socially, and politically.
