Founded by young people from Santiago de Cali, “Caña Flecha” celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Colombia’s Pacific coast. The sung and danced traditions of these indigenous and mixed-race communities emerge from the strength and resilience of the African diaspora, which arrived on these lands over 400 years ago. The paintings of “Caña Flecha” depict the search for “piangua” in the mangroves, the quest for gold in the rivers, and the songs of women sharing their stories—customs still practiced today. The group will be accompanied by “Cantares del Pacífico,” nominated for the 2023 Latin Grammy in the category of “Best Folk Album.”
