With 500 students, Utkarsh is a traditional dance and music group founded in 1994 by Behnaz S. Todiwala in the city of Surat, located in the Gujarat region of western India. Surat, known for its production of diamonds and silk, has contributed to the wealth of local craftsmen and the prosperity of the region, making it a mecca of Indian cultural heritage.
