FOLK DANCE AND SONG ENSEMBLE "BAGRATI-ADILA"

The 40 artists of the group «Bagrati» come from the mountainous region of the Caucasus. Their shows mix the strength of the warriors going into battle with their sharpened swords, the grace of the dancers seeming to move on a cushion of air and the poignant beauty of the polyphonic songs accompanied by the Panduri, a small Georgian lute. If there is one country where folk dancing is the number one sport, it is this small region on the Black Sea coast. All schoolchildren learn the basics of these very physical dances and only the best dancers are allowed in the ensembles who travel around the world.
