Founded in 1999 as Sikania and revived in 2007, Fabaria Folk is a folk group from Favara, a picturesque town in the Agrigento region of Sicily. The group is committed to preserving and promoting Sicily’s rich cultural heritage through its traditional dances, songs and music. The name “Fabaria” evokes the ancient Arabic name for Favara, reflecting the region’s multicultural heritage. Fabaria Folk’s repertoire is a celebration of Sicilian folk traditions, blending elements of tarantella, ballads and historical narratives.

The group uses traditional instruments such as the tambourine, friscalettu (Sicilian flute), mandolin and accordion, recreating the authentic atmosphere of Sicilian village festivals.
