SOMEȘANA
The Romanian ensemble brings together the strengths of artists from two different groups for its visit to Switzerland this year. Someșana and Mugurii Mintiului, both from northern Transylvania around the town of Dej, represent the traditions from different, especially rural regions of their homeland. The members of this ensemble are the youngest of this edition. The acoustic component plays a key role in their choreographies: the dancers clap their hands, snap their fingers and mark the rhythm with their typical footwear, thus adding an extra dimension to the musical accompaniment.
